On April 16, 2026, students from Heinrich-Hertz-Schule and Symbiosis Skills and Professional University in Pune gathered for another online exchange. This time, second-year process technicians participated. The topic was: ‚Energy Sources: Comparison India vs. Germany‘ – a direct comparison of each country’s energy supply. The comparison highlighted fundamental differences. Germany is pursuing the energy transition and is phasing out coal; India, in contrast, is focused on expansion and relies on its own coal as a key energy source. In expanding nuclear energy, India follows a clearly more expansive course. In solar energy, there is a structural difference: Germany works in a decentralized manner, India relies on large, centrally organized generation facilities. Oil import dependence appears to affect both countries equally. Discussions also covered concrete proposals to optimize each energy system.

Beyond the technical content, the exchange was characterized by its communicative quality. An ice-breaker game and direct one-to-one conversations between a German and an Indian student created genuine personal contact. The feedback was positive; the students expressly recommended this format for further collaborations. A first digital exchange with Pune had already taken place in February. More joint projects are planned.
